About Me
Hallooooo....
I'm Marc Plainguet, and that beautiful woman in the picture with me is my wife, Francine. Now, more than likely you came to my site (yes, another in the long line of ego feeding personal web sites) looking for one of the other areas of interest here. That's OK. I want it that way. I'll tell you a little about myself, but mainly I want to use this site as a catchall of sorts for personal projects I work on that you might be interested in (like the discographies) or just as a way for me to rant or talk about things that interest me. Do I have a plan? Nah! It wouldn't be any fun then.
Here's some personal stuff...
I was born in 1966 and grew up in Los Angeles. My father was a French chef. He worked for some big hotels, but most interesting of all was the time he worked for Universal Studios running the commissary. He not only fed casts and crews, but provided food for movie and TV some of which, believe it or not, you may remember. Remember that golfball John Belushi ate in Animal House? He did that. Remember that sickening afterbirth Malcolm McDowell are in Cat People? Yep, he did that too. I'm going to put up a page at some point that's a little tribute to him.
My mom is one of the coolest mom's in the world. Many people I know have nagging picky moms. My mom is cool. I know that sounds weird, but the truth is she's a highly tolerant live and let live person. She made me the open minded freethinker I am today.
In my later teen years, I became a Christian. Now, please don't misunderstand what I mean by that. I know when people say "Christian" people often get the preconceived idea of a Bible-thumping fundamentalist that gives all his money to TV preachers. Well, that's not me. You see, that freethinker I became actually uses his mind. Christianity is the most important part of my life, and by that I mean my relationship with Jesus Christ. However, I would like to clarify that my life with Christians has not been as nice as it has been with Christ Himself. I do not accept man-made dogmas, denominations, and the like. I am ashamed and embarrassed by the behavior of many Christians today. I just hope that in my behavior I can show Christianity as something different from the game show religion most people see.
I also began to get involved in music and put out quite a few releases of my own electronic, experimental, and industrial music. I managed to get a certain amount to recognition for it and also have done some multimedia performance as well as dabbled in other artistic mediums. For more information on that check out the Corpqii Arts website.
In 1989 I moved to Youngstown. Why? Well, that's pretty complex. Got a year for me to explain it. Better yet, wait for the book. Anyway, for some reason I left L.A. and moved to Youngstown. I hated it.
Two years later, I moved to Pittsburgh to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I loved it. I lived up on Mount Washington and had a great time in school. While commuting back to Youngstown once a week for a home Bible study I met Francine Vitullo. Well fell in love. You know it had to be true love if I was willing to move back to Youngstown to be with her and marry her.
She's now Francine Plainguet and we live in Youngstown, Ohio. I am the office manager of the Youngstown office of a video duplication company and she works as a dog groomer for Petsmart. We own a home in a nice quiet neighborhood, and that's pretty much camelot for us. Youngstown I can take or leave, but our home is the best place to be. It makes being here worthwhile.
Well, I'm sure I'll have more to say at another time. Till then look around and hopefully you'll find something that interests you.
